I started having 'little' contractions earlier that day, so i told bradon we needed to go for a walk or something to see if it stopped them or made them worse.. I went home and walked on the treadmill for a little while, and they stopped =(.. So we went on with our day and nothing else made me think i would be going into labor anytime soon.. That night we both we're talking to brynlee telling her that tonight would be a PERFECT night for her to come and we wanted to meet her SO bad.. My mom text me goodnight and said you better not be going into labor tonight cause i didn't get ready today... I laughed and said " i will " =)
well at about 8:30 i started to get some more contractions and a little heartburn, i took tums, had 2 glasses of milk and the heartburn pain didn't seem to subside.. It felt worse but had moved down to like my mid stomach, i seriously thought i was having a heart attack, everyone laughs but that's truely what i thought.. I toughed it out until about 12:30 a.m monday morning then just starting crying telling bradon that it hurt so bad and there was no way it was heartburn, he kept saying lets go to the hospital, i was scarred though, so i called my mom and dad and they made me call the on call dr and see what to do.. Luckily the on call dr was mine and she said i'm to far along to mess around and to go into Labor and Delivery and get checked out.. Those words freaked me out, there's no way i was having a baby today!! My mom and dad came and picked me and bradon up and took me to the hospital, the ride there felt forever, i couldn't really breath and i had sooo much pressure in my stomach/chest area, my dad kept running red lights. haha.. When we got there they took me right back and checked for contractions and checked my cervix.. The lady measured me at a 1 and 70% and having GOOD contractions from 2-6 minutes apart, that was the pain i was feeling!! So not what i thought a contraction would feel like.. So they gave me an hour to show i was in active labor and when they came back to check me i was still having contractions and was at a 2 and 80% so she said "YOUR IN LABOR AND WE'LL BE ADMITTING YOU" i seriuosly almost freaked, she then said they will come down and do your epidural and break your water to speed things up, i then looked at my mom and said " i'm having a baby today for sure" and she said "YES" oh my gosh!!!
They took me back to the room i'd deliver in and gave me my epidural, it truely wasn't bad at all!! It was so amazing and i truely recommend it to anyone that's going to have a baby! It took away all my pain and i could just relax!! My mom dad and bradon were already there with me and we then decided to call my sisters since i was for sure in labor and let them know.. They both had to work that day at 7. We called about 3 o clock and they were both there right away!! amazing family i have!! Amber can't call in so she was bummed thinking i would deliver while she was at work, little did we know.. Shirley and my dad left to go do daycare for a little and get my car with all the baby stuff since we didn't think we we're going to the hospital to have a baby!!
They popped my water and i swear that slowed things down, ahah.. my contractions slowed down and weren't as big anymore, so they hooked me up to pitocin.. Still low contractions.. Everytime they would check me i was up .5... well this was going to take FOREVER.. I got to a 4.5 and 90% and swollen and then my body pretty much stopped.. The contractions we're coming in alot harder but my cervix wasn't dilating anymore, so my dr and the nurse came in and said the horrible dreaded "c" word.. C section.. They said they'd give me 30 minutes to do anything, efface,or dilate.. My mom said give her atleast an hour but they we're set on a half.. Brynlee's heart rate went a little weird so they stopped the pitocin too. so i was a little nervous. They came back and her heart rate was normal and i went 4.5 to 90 and not swollen so they said that's good and they would turn the pitocin back on and we needed her heart rate to stay normal.. We got another nurse and she came in and said brynlee was most likely posterior and we needed her to flip so her head could put pressure on my cervix, so they flipped me on my stomach for almost 2 hours, remember i was at a 4.5 at this time.. Jessi came and i had some good talks with her, which my mom thinks helped keep my mind off things.. They came in and said i was at a 7 and brynlee flipped.. holy cow i think we we're all smiles.. we did it , we passed the dreaded 4 and i was going fast.. They came back in about and hour later and i was at a 9.. She said that first time moms usually push for an hour to 2 hours, and that brynlee wasn't all the way engaged yet so i might be pushing for a while.. YUCK.. I had a cold so breathing was terrible, they had me on oxygen cause i had a fever and that dried out my throat so i was definatly nervous to push!! She came back in about 30 minutes later and said i'm at a 10 and 100% and ready to push.. OH MY GOSH.. i did it.. no c section for me.. i was soo excited.. We did 2 practice pushes and then we got to tell all my family the good news.. They set up and we were ready to go.. I pushed for about 15 minutes, then they saw brynlees head and said i was doing amazing so she wanted me to STOP and she'd call the on call dr to come in.. So i had to wait 20 minutes for the dr to get there plus like 10 for her to get all dressed and ready to go, it was the longest 30 minutes of my life.. once i got to push again it was about 10 minutes and my beautiful baby girl was here.. It was insane the amount of pressure you still feel , the epidural was definatly getting weaker since i had it in for 20 hours, but i still didn't think i would feel what i felt, i'd say that was definatly crazy.. She was healthy as could be, they put her right on my chest and she wasn't even crying, it was crazy.. Her eyes were wide open and we just starred at eachother.. she weighed 7 lbs 15.5 oz and 21.5 inches long.. WOW way bigger then we all thought.. Everything came back amazing with her, she passed all of her test with flying colors and mommy was doing great as well..
She slept great that first night and was eating well too.. We had lots of vistors in the hospital which made the LONG days go by faster.. We love her more then words can say and can't beleive she is here..
